Been meaning to post these for awhile now; they’re a bit old at this point but maybe new to you! Full remix albums posted with the artists’ approval.
Primal Scream – Screamixadelica : The “Inner Flight” remix by MollyO’ favorite FakeID is the standout track here.
Chemical Brothers – Flip The Switch Remixed : The “Across The Universe”-cover (called “Surface To Air“) remix kept me bouncing for months. It has a great Smashing Pumpkins-sounding guitar.
The Prodigy – Always Outsiders, Never Outdone Remixed : Pop Razor’s redo of “Phoenus” is a terrific update of “Venus”. I think it successfully manages to marry the 60s sound with hip-hop and breakbeats.

I finally got my LINKS section in shape. Take a gander at the side-bar, if you know what’s good for you!
Now I know some of you will be scratching your heads, asking “Why is the eMUSIC SERVICES & STORES links list so comprehensive when this is supposed to be a site about getting free music?” Well, silly, lots of those stores/services do offer special promos or regularly feature free tracks. Plus, it wouldn’t kill you to purchase other tracks by those artists you would like to support!
For instance, the iTunes Music Store has a free track available to download every week on the front page of the service (with new ones up each Tuesday). It’s a good way to explore different genres without risk. Even if you think you won’t like it, give it a listen anyway! The joy is in the discovery, remember?

Never out-classed, the house of Benz continues their fine compilation series with tracks from all over the map. Download the entire album (including CD tray artwork) for FREE here: MERCEDES-BENZ MIXED TAPE
I haven’t gotten around to listening to all fifteen tracks in their entirety yet but rest assured that funk, trip hop, soul and jazz genres are all represented. Female vocalist Luis’ “All Gone” is an immediate standout and has neo-soul hit written all over it… Jill Scott and Angie Stone better watch out, that’s all I’m sayin’!
MIXED TAPE 08 will be up and available for download until October 4th when MIXED TAPE 09 will replace it.

A FREE electro-punk remix is available for download here; Scroll down to the bottom in the Art+Media section to find it.
The band has issued this warning: “This mix contains heavily censored material of an adult nature and should be listened to by mature adults at high volume.”
